You work from home. Or your business is totally mobile and you always meet clients at their location. These are two instances where you may run into issues with getting your Google business profile verified.
Think about it this way: Google’s search results are meant to provide people with real answers about how and where to find a business. If the address you provide to Google is a PO Box or a virtual address (where you don’t have the ability to meet with clients face-to-face), then Google says, “Nope.” It doesn’t want people getting bad information. It also wants to ensure that folks aren’t trying to pull a fast one with the public.
So what can you do? Offices can be expensive. And staffing those offices add an entirely extra layer of cost. It’s likely not worthwhile (yet) for you to go down that path.
You have options.
You can either give Google your home address and let them show that address to the world (this is great if your home is zoned for business and you can add signage). OR, you can use a flexible office option like we offer here at BIZ CUBE.
Google has several ways to verify your business, but most businesses will need to submit a video recording showing the office in question. You can read up on the requirements here. But basically, you’ll need to show your building’s address, signage for your business, work equipment (like a desk, computer, printer, etc.), and proof of management like your business license, access to a storage room or even a point of sale system.
If you want your business to be able to advertise on Local Service ads, your verification process might also include a background check, or more.
The best and most cost-effective option you have here at BIZ CUBE to get your business verified is to utilize our “Dedicated Desk” package. This gives you the opportunity to show Google that you have a publicly accessible place to work and meet clients, as well as the option for signage (internally in our suite). The Dedicated Desk package also gives you access to our conference room (for private client meetings), registered agent and mail services, and a link to your website from our member directory.
You’ll want to make sure you add your new address to your website (Google will check this) AND that you update your address with the Secretary of State’s office as well as the City of Gladstone (Google may want to see your business license).
